If any of you know me, you know that I am pretty short in height. Fitting well into jeans has always been an issue my whole life. Buying a near perfect fit is impossible, even at the designer jean store where they have jeans for my height. Usually, after purchasing a new pair of jeans, there has to be a tailoring job in order. And, of course I want that sweet finished look on the hem that the designers do. So, this time I decided to take you with me through the process. We shall see how well the pictures do at telling you how I do it.

I tried it that way one time, but then they always folded on that new seam...how do you get yours to stay that way without folding out? Not that I have to hem mine often, but I hem for other people a lot!
They look great, and I LOVE the green shoes!
Yup...that's how the professionals do it. We have a friend who has an awesome website called truejeans.com. You put in your measurements and then they match you with what jeans would work best for your body. They hem their jeans this way too! I also have the same problem, just opposite. I have to buy extra long jeans, which don't come in every shape or size of jeans.
Anyway, nice hemming job!
That is truly crafty. But you know me I have the opposite problem, jeans are never long enough. :( I absolutly despise jean shoopping.
Shayna, I am so going to that website. Sounds great. Thanks,
Shelley, I have never had a major problem. What I usually do to prevent what your talking about:
-folding the hem inwards and sewing on top of the hem or on the right side of the jeans.
-ironing before sewing it.
-after sewing, trying the jeans on, and making sure I like the length I cut the excess material.
Most of which I'm sure you do. I hope some of this helped though.
I have the opposite problem. Very cute pants. It's cool that you know how to fix them.
Thanks for the great lesson. I too have the same problem but never knew how to get the hem to look like that.
Wow, impressive! I have never given anything like that a try. Yet another talent.
Those look awesome!! I should learn to do that.
I would have never thought to do it that way! They look wonderful!
That looks really good!! And I LOVE your green shoes. Can I borrow them?
Why of course, sis.
you need to put instructions down.
Wow, they look great.. I never knew how to taylor jeans to keep the cute finish. Thanks for the pictures!
