One Day . . .

I'll finish the cathedral quilt I started when Spencer and I got married. The pillow behind it was something I made on my mission. What in the world was I doing while on my mission, you say? Sometimes, you'll do strange things to share the gospel with a family. They taught my companion and I and we taught them. I digress, as usual.

I realize there are seasons in life. My season right now is one of giving up wants and using my time for my children. In a way, I look at my unfinished quilt and am glad it is not complete. Time with my children is precious and General Conference this past weekend recommitted my efforts in creating that time because yes, it has to be created.

"Pile up too many tomorrows and you'll find that you've collected nothing but a bunch of empty yesterdays." Quoted by President Monson from the Music Man.

The pillow it beautiful... I loved that talk by President Monson. I think it struck a cord with a lot of us! Truly inspired.

I know who you learned that from! I can't think of their names right now but those two women did neat quilting stuff in East Hampton. They were very sweet. My mom has a cathedral pillow, too. I also really loved that address by President Monson...very inspiring!

Very, very impressive. Now that's a talent you don't see much anymore.

You really hit the nail on the head. I too have a list of "to do's" that are not checked off, many projects that are unfinished, and numberless things I want to do with my life that are mere thoughts for now. I always say the same thing, "it's not that season in my life." Everyone tells me that this stage of mothering young children passes so quickly, so I really am trying to take the time to appreciate it now. Looks like you have the same idea!

I made my first quilting pillow out of my mission shirts. Let's just say I am more talented with a paint brush!
