Bows and Such

I have a dilemma, Nora will not keep bows and such in her hair. She finds them a nuisance and when she gets the chance she will pull them out even if it takes some of her hair with it. I think she looks great without them but sometimes I'd like the option to accessorize her outfit, jazz it up if you will and as you can tell from the picture that does not make her very happy. So I'm calling out to you fellow readers, friends, family, strangers to help me come up with some innovative way to get my child to do what I want. Rereading this, I find it sounds a little selfish and silly but I still will post to see if I can solve this frustration even if humiliation is the answer.

"Darling" Jewelry

Okay, so I know that I'm her sister but I can't help but love my sister Darleen's jewelry. One of my favorite turquoise pieces I'm wearing today in the top left picture. I can wear it with almost anything. So, I had to post some of her pieces that are on my wish list. Can you tell I'm lovin' the blue and greens in my jewelry lately. Luxurious Camping

I don't think I'm one that prefers camping. I've done quite a bit of it in my life and have roughed it out in the wild with bears no less. This doesn't mean I will never go, it just means there may have to be some coaxing before I commit to it. On the other hand give me a deluxe tent set up like this and I will have the bags packed in a jiffy. So, what's your kind of camping? Please do share.

Picnic Giveaway

Since beginning this blog, it has been a treat to find lost friends, keep up with others, and make some new. I've enjoyed the sense of community that comes from having your own blog. Should I Attempt?

I think I might be able to make me one of these darling Bo Peep Sets for Nora. What do you think? Does it look too hard? When I dare to attempt I would like it done in time for the summer weather. So cute.

Cookbook Worthy

I came across this picture of me and some of my brothers as a child. It looks like it was taken on my second birthday but on the back of the picture it was dated 1984 so I may be four. Either way I now know why my daughter has hardly any hair. This classic picture will be going in the family cookbook that is due to come out in June of 2008.

Graduation

Graduation is coming for many in May and I wanted to give a happy shout out to those in my family who are graduating. The above picture I love not only because it is of my husband but because I think it culminates the feeling of completion after all the hard work. My family is so excited for these great men for working so hard to get their diploma. Clark will graduate in one year and become a DO and move onto his medical specialty after that so I thought I'd include him in the bunch. Sorry guys Sarah will be getting her very own post when I get a decent picture.

Family Outings

We have been having fun with Spencer's side of the family in town this weekend. Today we finished planting in our backyard and then headed out to Red Rock Canyon to go on a hike. The weather was beautiful and it was nice to be outdoors. Then some of the family went swimming. Thanks Aunt Wendy for the pictures.

Dance Revolution

The Revolution is beginning, do you feel it? Here we are cuttin' a rug with Dance Dance Revolution. This was my workout last weekend at the in-laws. Both links are something different, enjoy. Have a happy weekend.

Jack of all trades? I think so. Spencer, may not always wear a suit but he almost always wears a suit. Here he is getting last minute projects done before family comes in for a baby blessing.

Happy Birthday Spencer

Before the day gets by me and festivities begin I need to shine the light on Spencer. He is turning a whopping 33 today! Some fun facts you may not know about him are:

• He doesnt' always wear a suit. Although some dispute this.
• He made me this amazing Valentine one year.
• If I need any catchy phrase,title or poem made up for invites or whatever I just tell him what I want it to be about and in minutes he's got it done.
• While pregnant this last time he did almost all the dishes for me.
• He has been a great sport every Halloween to let me dress him up, (as you can see below). He'll even get into character to make it more fun.

Happy Birthday Spencer! I love you.

Mission Reunion!

Well, we will be off soon to go up to my mission reunion in Utah. Looking over my mission pictures has brought back some beautiful memories. I loved serving the people in Connecticut and have very fond memories of many people there and missionaries I served with. Giving up 18 months of my life was nothing compared to what I gained. I'm a better wife, mother, and friend because of it. The gospel of Jesus Christ is amazing when applied to ones life. For those who are able, enjoy this Conference weekend. Be back next week.
