Movie Review

A wonderful lady recommended and let me borrow the controversial film The Business of Being Born, which was produced by Ricci Lake and directed by Abby Epstein. Have you heard of it?

My first reaction . . . wow! I will forever look at the journey of having a baby differently now. It was very enlightening.

A caution to those who watch: It is graphic, very much so. It wouldn't phase any doctors but it did me.

I love what this movie is all about! I had Bennett natural and I had such a good experience! I had an 11 hour labor and they were still trying to induce me.

This is a great movie, I am glad you got to see it. I actually had a homebirth with my last baby and am planning one with this one as well. It is definately one of the best decisions we have made for our family. :) Love the blog btw!

I hadn't heard of this movie, but I just watched the clip on their site and I'm intrigued. I've done lactation education and promotion for several years and I often think about the medicalized nature of giving birth in the USA--many "routine practices" inhibit the things our bodies are designed to do on their own. I can't wait to watch this movie--thanks for the recommendation.
