Happy 6th!

This is one of my favorite pictures from our wedding. The wedding day was over and we were being whisked away in our limo. We have that look - pure joy! I'm sure mixed in with relief and excitement that the day was finally over and our life together had begun. I loved you then and I love you more now. Happy anniversary Spencer!

Mother-in-law Gift?

Ahh, I'm pretty sure you win Spencer. Favorite son-in-law status is all yours.

So my husband whipped this garden bridge out over a period of 5 days working about 26 hours. Did I mention he looked at a picture said, "I like that one." and drew out his own pattern of it?

Also, after he finished at 11:30pm he drove over to my mom's house and carried it into her backyard. She's in for a sweet surprise tomorrow morning.

Suprise Spencer!

We celebrated Spencer's 35th birthday yesterday by taking him out to a nice dinner just the two of us at Vintner Grill.

Well, according to Spencer it was just the two of us until we arrived and he was greeted by 17 of his closest friends and family in town.

We had a great time and the food was so very yummy. The picture was taken by my new iphone. What . . . who's birthday is it? If you are wanting to know, I love the phone.

Jake + Jessica

Last weekend Spencer's good friend Jake got married to this beauty. We are so excited for the both of them. Jake has always been more of a brother then just a good friend to Spencer. It was fun catching up with Spencer's buddies while there. Loved the green and white colors for the wedding.

Jake and Spencer. If you can imagine little ol' me (5' nothing) next to Jake (6' 3"). It would have been comical. Really. Both Jake and I really feel uncomfortable standing next to each other.

Had to show the pic of Nora looking at the pretty princess while taking a picture with Jake and Jessica.

Happy Anniversary

Some may say 4 years isn't that long but within the 4 years Spencer and I have been married we have doubled our family size and some may say that is a lot. The years have been amazing. I love being married to Spencer. He makes it very easy for me. I love you Spencer, happy anniversary.

The Red Balloon

Nora, received this red balloon from her cousin's birthday party a while ago. My sister who went to go and get the balloons had a choice between balloons that would last between 2-3 days or 7-8 days. She chose the week long balloons. Well, it has been a month now and the balloon is still up in the air as if it were still the first day it received helium. My husband has found this fascinating. The balloon has become his pet science project. No one is allowed to pop the balloon or let it loose or whatever. How long will it stay up?

Yesterday, we had dinner guests over and before they came Spencer, took out a damp cloth and wiped the balloon to take off the dust it had collected. Since then I feel like I should prepare myself to accept this balloon as a part of my furniture. I just don't see it giving up any time soon. I think I should petition the store who sold it, to put a warning up that would let in that some of the balloons may last as long as whenever. Then I would have a date in mind of when this "project" was going to end. Until then, it is fun to see how Spencer has taken a fancy to the red balloon.

Jack

Jack of all trades? I think so. Spencer, may not always wear a suit but he almost always wears a suit. Here he is getting last minute projects done before family comes in for a baby blessing.

A Great Christmas

We had a great Christmas. Lots of fun suprises. Spencer really out did himself this year with a Vita Mix blender. It has been on my wish list for a few years now. I've already been able to make an avacado shake and a chocolate shake. Yes, I try all sides of the spectrum when it comes to my new blender.
Two other fun gifts that I didn't think anyone could pull off was two Richard Chamberlin movies, this and this. Both movies my family and I grew up with and when I found out that my mom lost track of hers I've been determined to obtain some without any foreign subtitles. As far as I know, both are hard to come by since they no longer are made. So, thanks sweetheart for the hard efforts of getting gifts for me this year.

Magical Forest

On Friday our Family went to one of our favorite places to go to during the Christmas season, Opportunity Village to experience the Magical Forest. I love this place! We have gone every year since being married and I went even when I was single. Every year they seem to out do themselves from the last. They have an array of activities to choose, from train rides to funnel cakes. They even expanded their rides to include the Super Slide and had a magical maze to get lost in. I know they gear this place for children but it is my kind of adult toy land as well. Isn't the old school carousel magically beautiful. Takes you back to another time. They have sponsored decorated trees throughout the Magical Forest so it is fun to meander through and see how companies, families, and organizations decorated the trees. Harley Davidson even joined in the fun this year with their cool bad Santa. If living or visiting during the holidays this is one place to check out. For those who don't know Opportunity Village is a non-profit charity in Las Vegas. Here is their description of themselves:
Opportunity Village is a not-for-profit organization that serves people with intellectual disabilities by providing them with vocational training, employment and social recreation services that make their lives more productive and interesting. Through Opportunity Village’s programs and services, hundreds of people with disabilities are learning vocational skills and being placed in jobs throughout the community.

A Tag About My Man

1. What is his name? Spencer
2. How long have you been married? 3 years
3. How long did you date? Dated 6 months, engaged 2 1/2 months.
4. Who eats more? In a sitting I will but during the day he consumes more with his snacking.
5. Who said I love you first? He claims I said it first but really he did and then I said it after that.
6. Who sings better? A touchy subject in our home. Personally, I think we are pretty equal. I've taken voice yet he has more experience in choirs and singing in front of people. He will tell you he does.
7. Who is taller? He is and most everyone else in the country.
8. Whose temper is worse? When he truly shows his temper he does but I show mine more often.
9. Who does the laundry? I do, he has only done the laundry once since being married and he needed help to know how to operate the machine. Although, he will help with the folding.
10. Who does the dishes? We both do. May I stress both. Since being pregnant and delivering he has done it slightly, may I stress slightly, more than me. Although, I will take almost any other chore in the house over this one. I go postal sometimes over the dishes.
11. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do.
12. Who does the cooking? I gladly do. Otherwise, it would be quesadillas or mac n' cheese here on out.
13. Who is more stubborn? I think I am. Although, I think of myself as the person who compromises more so I don't know how that would work.
14.Who proposed? He did. We went for a short morning hike and breakfast in Calico Basin, he brought my favorite cereal and milk at the time, shared a poem he wrote about me and then proposed during the sunrise.
15. Who is more likely to admit when they are wrong? The ruling is still out. We both do a pretty good job at it.
16. Whose parents do you see the most? Mine. We happen to live in the same town. Yippee!
17. Who pays the bills? We both do. Although, the responsibility is suppposed to be mine.
18. Who wears the pants in the family? He does. Although, I am pretty opinionated and stubborn, his is the last say. Which works since his is the voice of reason in our family.
19. Why do you love your husband? I seriously could not write it all out. Usually there is a new reason everyday. All anyone, including him, needs to know is that I do. Posted by Picasa
